Irene Kelner, 87, passed away on February 2, 2024, at A.C.M.C following a short illness.
She was born in her home in Jefferson, Ohio, on July 19, 1936, the daughter of Stanley and Sophie (Wchypyh) Wludyga.
Irene graduated from Jefferson High School in 1954 and four months later on September 25, 1954, she went on to marry William Kelner; her loving and devoted husband of 48 years until his passing on August 27, 2002.
She retired as a supervisor from NAMCO in 1982 after 17 years of service. She lived her life centered around the love and happiness of her family. She was the most incredible wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and sister anyone could ask for; she will be missed dearly.
She enjoyed bowling, playing card games with friends, traveling all around the country on road trips with family, going on cruises and trips to the casino. She loved polka music, polka dancing and loved her yearly “Mollie B” polka concert with her kids.
She is survived by her loving family; her children: Patricia (Mike) Coolack of Crockett, TX, Theresa (Jeff) Moore of Tallmadge, Ohio and William “Bill” Kelner of Dorset, Ohio; her grandchildren: Lindsay Foglio, Jamie (Kevin) Torres and Michael Otto; her great-grandchildren: Sophia Torres, Shelby Torres and Sebastiano Foglio; as well as her dear lifelong friend, Bea Rood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William, and her siblings: Edward and Steve Wludyga, Nellie Burke, and Lottie Teresk.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 10, 2024, at the Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson Street, Jefferson. Calling hours will be from 11:00a - 12:00p with her funeral service starting at 12:00p. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service in Lenox Center Cemetery.
